The proportion of human beings with suicidal tendencies will decrease with time. As young humans with such tendencies commit suicides (prior to producing an offspring), the associated gene pool will be increasingly weeded out.

  1. An implicit assumption here is that there are more people committing suicide without producing an offspring than people who commit suicide after producing an offspring, thus leading to a negative net gain of humans with such tendencies.
