Eventually, the Tata Nano will be a success in the Indian market (http://bit.ly/geMZOn). It's too good an idea to flop.

  1. Do you still think so??

  2. Yes I do. I believe that the idea of a car that costs INR 1-1.5 lakhs is a killer in the Indian market. Nano and/or others expected to follow should be successful in India.

  4. Prima facie it appears that the Nano gets some stiff competition from used small cars such as the Maruti Alto, Hyundai Eon, etc. For example, if a new Nano sells for INR 1.5 lac while a one year old Alto sells for 1.75 lac, some people would be tempted to go for the Alto, since the Alto doesn't cut any corners and is a "fuller" car than the Nano, plus it comes from a far more trusted company.
